Sex and Cannabis

Posted on February 14th, 2024 to Products

We all know that cannabis is great for heightening sensations and making most any activity more pleasurable, so it almost goes without saying that cannabis could enhance your sex life. The reason it almost goes without saying is because the idea of getting stoned before sexy time is a little worrisome for some of our customers, possibly due to fears that it may hinder their performance, or make them feel like they’re not in the moment. While these are certainly valid concerns, its not always the case, and many of our employees can attest that cannabis in the bedroom can improve intimacy or libido when used in the right context with the right partner.

We asked our staff to recommend some of their favorite strains or products with an aphrodisiacal effect, and one budtender in particular really understood the assignment. Noni provided so many great tips, details, and recommendations that we felt it was worthy of being its own blog, so without further exposition, here’s Noni’s advice for incorporating cannabis into your sex life.

Boost Your Libido

If you’re looking to boost your libido, you could stop by a convenience store and pick up some precarious looking pills with a cobra on it, but Noni suggests that you try cannabis products that are rich in limonene instead. Limonene can be useful for relieving stress, improving your mood, and giving you a little burst of energy too. Consider supplementing your bedroom regimen with some Do-Si-Dos or Wedding Cake to help you get in the mood for sex.

Reducing Performance Anxiety

It can be a little nerve wracking when you’re getting intimate with someone new, especially if you’re worried about how they’ll feel about your performance. Noni says that most kush strains can be useful for easing performance anxiety, so smoke up and stop overthinking it. You got this!

Ease Discomfort

Without getting too graphic, some sex activities might come with a little bit of discomfort attached, whether it be physical or emotional. We don’t judge, but obviously you don’t have to do anything you’re not totally comfortable with. That being said, if you’re open to being adventurous and need a little something to help with those new experience jitters, some strains Noni recommends are Harlequin, Zkittlez, and G13.

Boost Your Confidence

Even if you’ve been with your partner for a long time, it takes a degree of confidence to take your clothes off and show someone a good time. Some strains that Noni recommends for helping to boost your confidence in the bedroom are Granddaddy Purple (GDP), Trainwreck, and Blue Dream.

Improve Your Stamina

If you’re looking for a little something to “keep you going like the Energizer bunny,” as Noni phrased it, you’re gonna want some clear headed and invigorating strains like Green Crack or Super Lemon Haze (but be careful, because a little bit goes a long way when it comes to these classic sativas).

Slow Down the Pace

We all know that the “documentaries” we like to watch in an incognito browser aren’t usually representative of actual human behavior; often times it’s much more intimate to slooow down and savor the moment. When such an occasion arises, consider experimenting with soothing indica-dominant strains like Mr. Nice, Animal Cookies, or Master Kush.

Increase Sensitivity

One of the best ways to increase your sensitivity is to utilize cannabis infused lubricants; though it takes quite a bit of time in order for the effects to be felt, they are very helpful for heightening arousal and reaching climax, particularly when applied to external female genitalia. When it comes to biological males, the anus is the only membrane thin enough for the lubricant to absorb through and result in increased pleasure, so let’s keep that in mind, boys.

Cannabis Infused Lubricants

Speaking of lubricants, we currently carry 3 intimate products at 210 Cannabis Co. that are worth checking out: O Lube by Fairwinds (silicone based and latex safe), Velvet Swing (water based, and also contains xanthan gum, plus CBD for increasing blood flow and sensitivity), and CannaBliss by Honu (coconut oil based, not latex safe). We advise against using Velvet Swing or Canna Bliss if you have a coconut or tree nut allergy.

Additionally or alternatively, some strains that might help to increase your sensitivity are ACDC, Sour Diesel, and Jilly Bean.

Love Yourself

If you’re flying solo this Valentine’s Day (or any day, really), try seducing yourself with some calming strains that are high in linalool, like LA Confidential. Linalool is a useful terpene for promoting relaxation. I don’t know if there’s anyone who criticizes their own performance on “solo night,” but if you’re out there, please be kind to yourself and get some linalool in your system.

Set The Vibe

As if the previous strain recommendations weren’t enough, Noni wants it to be known that the following strains are also worth experimenting with when you’re about to get down: Pineapple Express, Cheetah Piss (again, we don’t judge here… just remember to clear your browser history), OG Kush, Gelato, Mimosa, and Northern Lights. She also names Strawberry Cough as one of the “best strains 4 the ladies,” and I’m not even going to pretend that I know what that means.

Finally, Noni concludes their guide to sex and cannabis with the following sagely wisdom: “when in doubt, you can never go wrong with chocolate!”

Thanks for reading through our suggestions for having an optimal smoke & poke, and big thanks to Noni for their help in drafting this article! If you have any questions about cannabis products for intimate use, you’re always welcome to come in and ask any of knowledgeable budtenders for advice. Don’t be a stranger now.
