What does CBD do?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is non-intoxicating cannabinoid that is being researched for its “anticonvulsant, muscle relaxant, anxiolytic, neuroprotective, antioxidant, and antipsychotic” properties. A common but false belief regarding CBD is that it is the only medicinal/ therapeutic component of cannabis, though this could not be further from the truth, as THC (as well as many other cannabinoids and terpenes) provide a diverse range of therapeutic benefits, and they all work synergistically.

Though 210 Cannabis Co is a medially endorsed dispensary, we can’t make any curative or therapeutic claims about CBD or other cannabis products, so we encourage you to visit websites like ProjectCBD.org to learn more about the research and generally accepted uses for CBD.

CBD Ratios

Many CBD products are available in ratios of CBD:THC, such as 1:1, 10:1, and 20:1. Ratios are not something that the cannabis industry just came up with, they’re the result of clinical trials out of the United Kingdom conducted by Dr. Ethan Russo on behalf of GW Pharmaceuticals. After studying a cannabis-based drug called Sativex, Dr. Russo published his research that a 1:1 ratio of CBD:THC seemed optimal for treating the widest array of symptoms. Because some CBD users don’t tolerate THC well, or because many users have a job that requires that they can’t be intoxicated, the cannabis industry responded by producing products with higher amounts of CBD and less THC. Ratios are actually a matter of preference, not efficacy.

The most popular forms of CBD products we carry at 210 Cannabis Co are topicals and tinctures.
